We had a nice afternoon at this palazzo. There is considerable and interesting information to the history of the Farnese family and the city of Piacenza. We were there on a very hot day, and suggest if you are they in the summer, visit in the morning .

Review of: Duomo Di PiacenzaGo Inside

Piacenza is a very pleasurable, easy to navigate city và the Duomo is at its heart. There is no charge to pop in và it is very much worth a look. As is the Italian way, it is extremely dark và this adds to the majestic atmosphere of the place. The piazza which surrounds it has lots of cafes và various other churches are close by .

Review of: Piazza CavalliBeautiful heart of Piacenza

When I visited, there was an sự kiện taking place right in the Piazza Cavalli which made it very crowded and impossible to peacefully enjoy it. Anyway, the Palazzo Gotico and the two equestrian statues that give the name of the square as well as the other buildings are creating a really beautiful Italian piazza .

Nice place to visit the people spot in piacenza with some cool coffees and shops. We stop there for a coffee and enjoy the early day sun light and come back in night to explore but it was like a ghost place ! !

Review of: Palazzo GoticoStriking Palazzo Gotico in Piacenza, Italy

Beautiful building with an interesting history : its completion was halted by a plague and only one side was built. It stands in the central Piazza Cavalli and it is now the Municipal building. The bottom part of the building is made of pink marble stones and the top is made of red bricks. In a niche in the facade there is a statue of the Holy Virgin, it’s a copy of the original made in the 13 th century and currently kept in a local museum .

Review of: Chiesa di San SavinoAmazing

The church was consecrated back in the Xth century. The crypt has 12 th – century mosaics depicting the zodiac signs on a marine background. The presbytery has a contemporary mosaic showing battle scenes and a depiction of Christ .

Review of: Galleria AlberoniGuided tour of Fondazione Alberoni

I wound strongly recommend a visit to Fondazione Alberoni if you are in Piacenza. It is a beautiful place in itself to visit and has a small but precious collection of pictures belonged to Cardinal Alberoni. Among others, you may find the famous Eccentric Homo of Antonello da Messina, this is a masterpiece. It worth going there only to see this. If you are pilgrims on the Via Francigena, it is very practical to visit because it is on the way. Be careful because it is open only in the afternoon. The guided tour is done by motivated, passionate and professional guides. Don’t miss it ! !

As in many Italian city herre is also a great wonderful theater – opera house with very few program. I would organise daily visits as it is a real gem. We had the opportunity to wath a Simon Boccanegra – delightful evening .

Thes e are two beautiful bronze statues in the central Piazza Cavalli in Piacenza. They sit on a marble base that has other bronze decorations and represent Alessandro Farnese and his son Ranuccio .

Review of: Viale Pubblico Passeggiojogging or walking

More than 3 km of pedestrian area under tall trees, just over old city walls. Full of people wlaking, chatting, palyng, jogging or dicking around. Very good point of view from the walls. It’s a kind of hidden jam just next to downtown
