AB Yachts for Sale – IYC

The fast cruising yacht brand AB Yachts was founded in 1992 with the goal to create a landmark for high-performance luxury yachts. The yard has always been a reference in stylish Italian fast pleasure boats thanks to its open-designed yachts and high technical innovations. Part of the Fipa Group since 2001, AB Yachts forms part of the group’s Maiora and CBI Navi shipyard brands as a recommended yacht builder. By joining the Fipa Group, the company invested in developing new models to make AB Yachts a valued brand in the superyacht industry. In September 2021, The Fipa Group changed its name to become the Next Yacht Group, maintaining ownership of the three historical yacht brands. Speed and style define AB Yachts’ builds, with sporty and balanced models ranking from 25m to 45m. With advanced construction technologies and engineering, AB Yachts aims to remain one of the top sport yacht builders in the world.

Shipyard Specialty

Historically located in Viareggio, the AB Yachts’ facility is specialized in building high speed semi-custom yachts with a size range between 25m and 45m. Built in composite, AB Yachts models benefit from advanced materials and components to reach top performances and comfort at sea. To do so, the Italian shipyard AB Yachts combines the use of lightweight materials, such as GRP and carbon fiber, with efficient planing hulls and waterjet propulsion systems. AB Yachts boasts a range of semi-custom luxury yacht models: AB80, AB100, AB120, AB140 and the AB145. The five yacht models give AB Yachts’ clients the opportunity to customize their yacht interior style and layout to their preferences and needs. The AB Yachts’ model lines are made for clients exclusively looking for dynamic and fast vessels of varying lengths.

Notable deliveries and models

AB Yachts is regarded as a top sport yacht builder. Its largest yacht delivery to date is the 44.6m AB145 yacht Fast & Furious completed in 2015. Originally designed in-house the models AB116 and AB140 enjoyed a level of success when in production, such as Swift and Seafire. More recently, the yard launched brand new models building AB80 and AB100 units and the first hull of the AB120, the evolution of AB116.

Design collaborations on models and projects

Until recently, the Italian shipyard AB Yachts used to design its sport yacht models in-house. In 2020, the Tuscany-based design studio Acube Design teamed up with AB Yachts to revamp the AB model lines. What comes out of this collaboration is the restyled AB80, AB100 and the new AB120 models which keep the yard’s style identity by preserving the distinctive side arch curves. The new designs boast dynamic and balanced lines which result in a sporty character that is specific to the brand.
