Acer Aspire One D270 is a beast that can be so much improved! It is the 1st netbook that
takes a 4gb DDR3, uses 2.99gb so basically you get an extra 1gb of usable RAM. How? The
Intel Atom N2600 processor supports 2.44gb memory, that is above the 2gb norm. So I put
a 4gb in with Windows 7 Starter and still had 2gb. Next rebuilt with Windows 7 Home and
memory goes to the 2.99gb now. hint, hint…
Factory Broadcom Wifi-only 72Mbps card replaced with Atheros AR5B195 (AW-NB037). This is
a Wifi + bluetooth combo card. Get the Atheros wifi and bluetooth drivers from Acer site
and install. Now wifi is 150Mbps and you have internal bluetooth too! Not even an option
when you bought this new. This netbook made me finally love an Acer with 3.4 windows
experience rating.
