Apple HomePod mini (White)

Integration works well from iPad and iPhone but not from macOS. When initially setup as a stereo pair, it had a lot of problems and I had to reboot daily but seems to have gotten better with recent updates. They get plenty loud for listening to music in my living room but for watching movies with AppleTV I wish they were louder. The worst part is there does not seem to be any way to restrict Siri to specific voices so whenever I’m using them my kids come by and tell Siri to change the music or something, either intentionally or by accident.

I wanted something for music that I could use in my shop that wouldn’t be taken over by one of the kids. I was considering another brand when I read a review of this product. Apparently Apple’s approach to both the HomePod and HomePod mini was to hire the best engineers to create this product line. After doing the research, and being curious about the sound quality in this product, I purchased it through my favorite store. I should mention that at my house, we live in an Apple world, which also made buying this product a no brainer. When I opened the box, I wasn’t certain that anything this small could live up to the hype. I was very surprised while running it through the paces, that it has a very nice sound with the music I enjoy listening to. Is it equal to the quality speakers in my main system? Not really, but it does an amazingly decent job playing my music when I am working in my shop. I feel that it was a good purchase and lives up to the hype.
