Aqua Lung

Modern Civilian Scuba Diving began with Aqua Lung. Formed in 1946 by Jacques Cousteau and Emile Gagnan as ‘La Spirotechnique’ Aqua Lung made their name with their revolutionary Aqua-Lung regulator. Based on military designed they had developed during World War 2, the Aqua Lung heralded the beginning of a new generation of commercial and recreational diving becoming a generic name for Underwater breathing apparatus.

Aqua Lung continued to innovate, creating the first modern Drysuit and advancing the technology found in regulators, BCDs and numerous other pieces of diving equipment.
