Reviews for the Asus ZenFone C

One of the leaders among the budget phones with Intel chip and multifunctional ZenUI

Regardless of some weaknesses, ASUS’ ZenFone C can be defined as one of the best models in this price range. It would be better to see an IPS panel in order to provide better viewing angles, or to get better results on the battery endurance tests, but on the other hand the Intel CPU is a good indicator. The PowerVR SGX544MP2 GPU provides rarely seen graphics performance in this class matching the scores of Snapdragon 400/410 and the Adreno 305/306 GPUs commonly used in smartphones with double the ZenFone C’s price tag.

In the price sensitive budget market, the Zenfone C has basically been squeezed in to increase the company’s product portfolio. I would much rather save Rs. 1,000 and buy the Zenfone 4 instead, because the smaller display isn’t a big compromise. In this day and age, if I’m going to spend anything above Rs. 5,000, then I want a much better device. This is the same thing I had written for the Asus Zenfone 6 earlier, which was basically the Zenfone 5 with a bigger display and a much higher price tag. You would get a better buy not only in the Zenfone 4, but also in the higher priced Lenovo A6000 and new Moto E.

Asus ZenFone C (ZC451CG) Review: A Minor Entry-Level Update
Source:

English Archive.org version
The ZenFone C is somewhat of an update to the ZenFone 4, but isn’t very different from it in many ways. The larger screen is nice to have, but even so, Asus will have to do a lot more to be competitive as others release newer and more capable products. The Xiaomi Redmi 1S is still the class leader, though its highly restricted availability leaves a lot of room for companies such as Asus to be successful. If you think the ZenUI might be too confusing, there are also plenty of stock Android One devices in the market at this price level.
