Asus vs. Dell Laptops: Which One Should You Choose? | Salisonline.org

Asus and Dell are both very accomplished brands with excellent specifications to offer. But the one to choose depends solely on your needs.  Asus is more popular for its gaming laptops, while the corporate sector admires Dell. Both will try to fit into your budget if it’s low, but Dell laptops are comparatively cheaper. But you cannot blame them as each of the brands was focusing on their business tactics.

Have I perplexed you enough? Good. Because this article is the road map to exit the maze that I’ve successfully put you in. Keep reading to see the complete anatomy of both the brands put in front of you.

Asus vs. Dell Laptops: The Major Contrasts

To choose the winner of the battle between Asus and Dell, we have to consider some primary factors first. Some of these factors might be more prominent to you, depending on your needs. But, make sure you make a decision after considering all the available information about the device.

Design and Screen

Asus will provide you with incredible and aesthetic designs without compromising on quality. The materials used in the products are very durable and sleek! The non-users must be wondering that all these added features must also put weight on the laptop.

But they don’t.  Asus laptops are lightweight and scream elegance, such as the ZenBooks or the ROG Zephyrus. Asus screens will give you extra features: a 4K HD LED display, and some even come with touchscreens!

In contrast, the Dell laptop outlook is outright dull. While the specifications can be competitive, the designs are not attractive at all. But some do come with an option of bright colors.

If you can go for the high-end ones such as XPS or Alienware series, then you’ll find some sophisticated laptops. If aesthetics and style are one of your top priorities, then you should undoubtedly go for Asus.

Components

Asus must be complimented to focus on the quad-core processors they offer with almost all of their laptops. It even makes cheap laptops very powerful and well adapted for multitasking.

No wonder it’s mostly in demand by the students and corporate office goers, primarily due to the pandemic that has made digitalization a norm.

Most models, such as ROG Zephyrus or the ZenBooks, have unique features such as user-friendly angles and an innovative display. Some even offer ScreenPads to make your study sessions or meetings more interactive!

Conversely, Dell laptops will guarantee high-quality hardware only for its high-priced laptops.

Some new additions of Dell, such as XPS 15 or A17 R5, consist of Hexa-core or turbo boost processors and Nvidia GeForce GTX Graphic. But you have to appreciate the number of components that Dell puts into their affordable laptop series.

Price

Whether you’re a miser or ready to spend a king’s ransom, it doesn’t matter if you’re looking for Asus laptops as they fulfill the needs of all! You’ll find good Asus laptops to choose from for your everyday use within $1,000. If you up-scale your budget to the $2,000-$3,000 range, then you can easily go for the fancy ZenBooks or the ROG Zephyrus.

Dell will also offer you a range of cheap and high-end laptops. But, they will find it hard to keep up given the quality and features that Asus can provide you with at a meager price!

Customer Support

I’ll be completely blatant. I need solutions, not sweet talks. The phone service provided by Asus needs to improve. None of us have the time or patience to deal with slow chat responses or confusing solutions on call. But, Asus offers excellent customer service on its social media platforms. If you want to play detective further, you can always read their FAQ section.

Dell is a few steps ahead comparatively as they were wise enough to set up separate service departments for its Alienware with a fantastic team! The phone calls will always be tiring, but at least you’ll get your needed solution.

One major drawback is that they don’t offer a 24*7 service, but their super-efficient social media platform solutions and personalized chats will easily balance it out!

Warranty

Dell laptops come with a 1-year service warranty. If you’re clumsy and have somehow damaged a part of a few months’ old laptops, then throw away all your worries as Dell will fix your damaged components with no questions asked. But you have to get your lazy self-moving by taking your laptop to the nearby store.

It’s a tie between both the giants here as Asus also assures a 12-month warranty. But there’s a catch. You will only get the component refurbishing facility with only a few Asus laptops!

Uses

Further comparison can also be made based on the usability of the laptops. So, choose the one best suited for your potential uses.

Gaming

Asus’s i9 processor and high functionality graphics make them better for gaming purposes. No wonder the Asus ROG Strix SCAR III laptop has won the hearts of millions of gamers globally due to its high-performing graphics card!

Dell laptops come with good graphic cards but won’t be able to sustain long gaming hours or provide you with great gaming visuals without zero lags!

Business

Since Dell has not diverted its resources to improve its graphics card, it adamantly developed the rest of its components to make some super-efficient laptops for businesses. You can smoothly use multiple apps, MS Office Suite while running a few boring spreadsheets in the background. You’re worrying your computer would give in? No.

Dell laptops will continue to operate at lightning speed as you multitask. Unlike Asus, trying to be the master of all, Dell is well targeted to provide you with the essential needs.

Everyday Use

What are your basic everyday use needs? Watch movies or series, do some basic research on the Internet or use the MS Office suite? Go for Asus laptops that will meet your requirements without making you spend a fortune or your hard-earned money.

ZenBooks are my personal favorite because I’m typing away using one right now! Thanks to the fantastic screen, my eyes feel rested, and my everyday demands are well met even if I sometimes decide to go overboard.

As I preach against any bias, I would still recommend you recheck my judgment by comparing Asus laptops with Dell Inspiron laptops. These are great as well, but I can assure you that Asus laptops will be super comfortable.

Digital Media (Video, Image Editing)

Asus guarantees exceptional hardware performance as they can easily tweak the different components of their laptop, enhancing the entire system. So, even if the designed graphics card is not enough, you can always modify it to meet your editing needs.

The high-quality graphics offered, that too in the budget, are very durable and will make your editing journey trouble-free.

While the Asus laptop processor seems unbeatable for editors, you might still want to look at the cheaper Inspiron 15 of Dell. Its specifications are very standard. Also, since some of the Dell laptop’s battery life can serve you from 10-18 hours like the Dell Latitude 9520, you might want to consider these as well.
