Best Apples for Cider | Apple for That
Cider; that soothing crisp drink best enjoyed in the Fall season, but also great to sip on year-round. Hot or iced, apple cider is a favorite among many of us, and is a great way to squeeze in that important apple-a-day!
What’s the best type of apple to use for your cider recipe? That will (literally) boil down to your taste preference; sweet or acidic. For sweeter cider, try Gala, Fuji, Cortland, Golden Delicious, or Red Delicious varieties; for a more acidic, tart flavor, go with Pink Lady, Braeburn, Jonathan, or McIntosh. A blend of apples from both the sweet and tart flavor families is sure to be a hit!
