Class AB vs Class D amps

It isn’t about listening for differences in amps and then being able to describe the difference.
Using that approach you will probably prefer something that is familiar rather than better. It is about how it makes you feel.
When you tell a friend about how much emotion was in the recording and the hairs on your arm stand up from remembering it.
When you get tears in your eyes not because the song is sad but because the music was so intense.
To get this you need all the ducks to line up. The weakest link will be your undoing.
Not enough channels and a massive sound field isn’t created. Not enough power and you get more distortion.
Extra distortion and you don’t want it quite as loud and so you miss out on the thrill.
Most likely the recording or room or your speakers are the weakest link.
But if you don’t have a bad room and you have speakers and an amp that are detailed and a great recording and a clean source then you can compare the amps based on your emotions.
