Scheduling a Group Tour:

  • How do I schedule a Group Tour?

    Toggle More Info

You will need to fill out the online Group Tour Request form in order to begin the process of scheduling a tour. Please be prepared to provide
all of the information requested including: 3 possible dates/times (please select
three and we will schedule the first available date); group’s name; number of students
    attending the tour; adults/chaperones attending the tour; grade level(s) of your students;
primary group contact name, email, and telephone number (work and cell #); interest
in lunch on campus; how you will be traveling to campus (charter bus, school bus,
    etc.),

  • How far in advance does a Group Tour need to be scheduled?

    Toggle More Info

Group tours must be scheduled at least 2 weeks in advance of the desired date of your
    visit
. Last-minute requests will be considered on a case-by-case basis, but staffing will
dictate if we are able to accommodate. Please remember our tour guides are students
and we need to have their course schedules finalized before committing to a tour schedule
    for a future semester.

  • What dining arrangements can be made?

    Toggle More Info

Please contact Kimberly Barker, Director of Catering, FGCU Campus Dining – [email protected] to make dining arrangements prior to your arrival.

  • Who can I talk with about scheduling a Group Tour with special circumstances?

    Toggle More Info

Lauren Cargo, our Coordinator of Campus Visits, is happy to work with you. You can
reach her at [email protected] or 239-590-7982.

  • How do I know when my requested tour is confirmed?

    Toggle More Info

Requested dates for group tours are not guaranteed until the group has received a Group Tour Confirmation e-mail from the Coordinator
    of Campus Visits.

  • What else should I consider when scheduling a Group Tour?

    Toggle More Info

Campus is much more active when classes are in session. The best campus experience
will happen when prospective students are seeing a regular day with regular activity
on campus. Study days, finals week and breaks are not great times to visit as campus
is much quieter. Be sure to refer to the Academic Calendar when scheduling your date. Spring Break season is a very popular time for individual
families to visit campus so availability of staff for group tours is more limited
during the months of March and April.

Scheduling preference is given to college-bound groups of high school age or older.
We are also happy to work with our local community organizations.

  • Middle School & Elementary Students

    Toggle More Info

If you have a group of students younger than high school age interested in visiting
campus, you may visit Florida Gulf Coast University on your own by participating in
a self-guided walking tour. Self-Guided groups should inform the Welcome Center of
their visit no later than 2-weeks prior to the visit so we can inform Campus Safety
and other offices to prepare for larger numbers on campus and to allow for packet
preparation. Self-Guided brochures, as well as student information packets, can be
picked up from the Welcome Center front desk on the date of your visit. The Welcome
    Center is open Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

  • Prior Notice

    Toggle More Info

Group tours must be scheduled at least 2 weeks in advance of the desired date of your
visit. All groups must be scheduled with the Welcome Center before arriving on campus.

  • Promotion & Advertising

    Toggle More Info

Group tours may not advertise on behalf of FGCU or use the FGCU logo without written
    consent from FGCU.

  • Tour Guides

    Toggle More Info

Groups should not solicit a guide not employed by the FGCU Welcome Center. Our guides are extensively trained and know the latest information regarding campus
and admissions processes. Every effort should be made by the organizer to come to
campus for a guided tour. If trained tour guides are unavailable, a self-guided tour
    will be advised.

  • Chaperones

    Toggle More Info

One chaperone for every 20 prospective students/visitors is required.

  • Speakers

    Toggle More Info

If a presenter from campus will be speaking to your group, you must inform the Welcome
Center of the time, location and presenter so we are able to modify the visit if necessary.
If requested, we can assist in finding a location on campus for the presentation,
but you must make arrangements with the speaker ahead of time.

  • Tour Companies

    Toggle More Info

Tour companies must have a contracted and confirmed group before scheduling a campus
tour. Tentative reservations for open group tours cannot be accommodated. Tour companies
are also not permitted to reserve multiple group tour dates prior to finalizing a
travel schedule for a group. Group tour dates can only be reserved for committed Tour
Companies who are certain of a group’s confirmed travel schedule with their company.

multiple times for lack of “group participation,” the Tour Company may be denied future
group tour requests at Florida Gulf Coast University.
Tour companies must provide the list of students, their e-mail addresses, high school,
and graduation year prior to arriving on campus for the campus tour.

  • Student Names
