How to Choose the Right Belif Moisturizer for Your Skin

Calling all opinionated beauty lovers: We want to know which products you can’t live without! Take our annual poll to pick the top hair, makeup, nail, and skin-care products that deserve our coveted Readers’ Choice seal.

Since it first hit the U.S. market, Belif’s fan-favorite Aqua Bomb moisturizer has been a staple of dermatologists, skin-care devotees, and newly-minted skin-care enthusiasts. Thanks to its addictive, cooling gel-cream texture and nourishing formula, fans (Allure editors among them) have made the moisturizer a best-seller and rushed to scoop up jumbo versions and limited-edition sets. But even Aqua Bomb diehards have to do the occasional moisturizer switch-up, and that’s where the Moisturizing Bomb comes in. It’s a cream moisturizer that’s meant for dry, flaky, or dull skin in need of an intense dose of hydration. Whichever moisturizer you pick — and I, for one, pick both depending on the season and my skin’s needs — you’ll get a serious nourishment boost.

This month, Belif is introducing a brand-new set that’s got the goods: the Aqua Bomb Dive Into Hydration Set (Available at sephora.com). The set contains a full four-step skin-care routine in a box, including deluxe sizes of cleansing balm, toner, and eye cream, and a full-size version of the Holy Grail moisturizer. For $38 (which works out to 30% less than if you bought each item separately), you’ll get the only skin-care routine you’ll need this spring — and it even comes in cute, cartoon-ocean-themed packaging.

Here’s how to know which beloved Bomb is for you:

Belif The True Cream Aqua Bomb

This lightweight, gel-cream moisturizer has been my go-to since before I even became a beauty editor. It’s soothed my acne-prone skin and sunk gently into oily areas and dry areas (blessed to have both). You can practically feel it working to plump up your skin immediately, and thanks to the gentle texture, it absorbs quickly and fully into skin. It’s also the moisturizer I find myself recommending to friends most often, since the experience of slathering on a cooling gel-cream is so luxurious.

Belif The True Cream Aqua Bomb

According to New York City-based cosmetic dermatologist Michele Green, gel-creams typically contain active ingredients with a smaller molecular size, allowing them to penetrate deeply into the skin. Belif’s team of scientists developed Aqua bomb with a combination of traditional herbal formulas and modern K-beauty skin science. It’s made with horsetail, chickweed, nettle, plantain, and lady’s mantle, the latter of which Green tells Allure is “known for its ability to calm the skin, reducing redness, inflammation, and irritation.”
