How to Find an ESN, MEID and IMEI on an iPhone
There are a number of ways to locate your iPhone’s MEID and IMEI numbers. The Mobile Equipment Identifier (MEID) is a serial number introduced in the mid-2000s to replace Electronic Serial Numbers (ESNs), which were exhausted by November 2008. The International Mobile Equipment Identity (IMEI) number, on the other hand, is used by your service provider to verify and feed the appropriate data signal to your phone. In addition to their role in service security and data verification, these identifiers can be used with more sophisticated methods like GPS location to locate your device in the event it is lost or stolen.
