I Am Blessed

by Ernest Angley

I am going to give you a phrase, three words, and I want you to say them to yourself again and again: I am blessed. Every time I say it, I want you to say it for your own self; tell your heart, I am blessed, I am blessed, I am blessed! Let that phrase pile up into a mountain of praise to the Lord so that there’ll never be another doubt in your mind that you are blessed.

When people forget they are blessed, the devil gets in with discouragement. Many have turned back from God down through the years because they forgot they were blessed. It caused them to be weak in prayers, fastings and living in the Word of God. They forgot to say I am blessed, forgot to believe it. Over and over every night and day we should say, I am blessed! Much power is in those words; they are weighty, freighted down with the goodness of God, with His love and greatness.

Bless the LORD, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name. Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits: Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases; Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies; Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle’s (Psalm 103:1-5). Forget not His benefits, forget not that you are blessed—that’s really what these verses mean.

There are so many benefits of the Lord. I am blessed because I was reared in a home that taught a born-again experience and living free from all sin. When a person was saved, they stopped all their sinning. I am blessed because I came into the knowledge of a born-again experience before I received it, not fully knowing how it worked in one’s life, only as it looked in the lives of others round about me who lived it. But now I am blessed to know for myself the salvation of the blood of Jesus.

Are You Blessed?

Are you blessed? Do you know about the power in the blood? Divine love, divine faith, divine peace, divine wisdom and knowledge, plain paths, miracles and healings are all in the blood; I am blessed. Liberty and the freedom of Jesus are in the blood; I am blessed. I am blessed to know this Gospel of Jesus Christ in its fullness. I am blessed to have the light of that Gospel, to have never known false doctrine, only the light of the blood Gospel.

If you came into the Gospel light, you, too, were blessed to have the light. If you were not reared in a home that taught the light of the Gospel, you are really blessed, for the Lord has shined His blood light on you. You can say you are blessed because the Lord brought you from complete, total darkness to light. You who were reared in the night, in darkness: Don’t go back into that darkness; think about how blessed you are now that the light has come, the light shineth.

When you leave the night behind, never look back. Fear, dread, misgivings are there, imaginary things in the dark that can haunt you. You don’t need the night.

Jesus came, and those who sat in darkness saw great light, those who came to that light were blessed. The people which sat in darkness saw great light; and to them which sat in the region and shadow of death light is sprung up (Matthew 4:16).

A House of Many Mansions

I am blessed because I know I’m promised a Heaven to go to where I can live forever, for eternal life is in the blood. I don’t doubt my place in Heaven, don’t doubt the place that Jesus told about, a land of many mansions. Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also (John 14:1-3).

Believe God

I am blessed because whatever the Lord tells me in the divine visitations, I believe; I believe every word He speaks, everything He says. I am blessed that I believe God; and you’re blessed if you believe God, so be saying to yourself, I am blessed. Be glad you’re not related to doubting Thomas. Oh no, just believe.

I am blessed because I believe in the Christ who was born and laid in a manger. I am blessed by the Babe in the manger because I know what that manger held: joy, peace and salvation for a whole lost world for whosoever will. Yes, I am blessed, I am blessed, I am blessed, and so are you.

I am blessed to know Jesus as a personal friend, a personal Savior, as someone more special to me than anyone else is. The most remarkable person I have ever met is in the personality of Jesus Christ. I am blessed to know Him in the power of His resurrection, and I’ve learned much about Him through His sufferings; I am blessed. Are you following along with me?

A New Creation

I am blessed to be a new creation in Christ Jesus, made into a new creature through the blood of Jesus. Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new (II Corinthians 5:17). I remember so well the old me who changed into a brand-new me. I was amazed; didn’t know it was possible to be changed like that, but one call to the altar did it; I am blessed. I met Him who has all power, who conquered all sin for me and declared sin shall not have dominion over you (Romans 6:14).

I am blessed because I received full pardon for all the sins I’d ever committed. When I left the house of God the night I received salvation, I didn’t carry one sin out with me; I left all sin behind. I had the holiness, the righteousness, the purity of God, and I knew Him in living reality; He had taken my life over completely.

If you are a new creation in Christ Jesus, you are wonderfully blessed beyond all else.

I will never walk alone because He walks with me; I am blessed. He promised to never leave me nor forsake me. For he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee (Hebrews 13:5).

I am blessed to know that God will supply all my needs, that I have nothing to fear and nothing to worry about. My God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:19). Behold the Lord Jesus Christ as the one who walks the waters for us. I am blessed as He walks all of my stormy waters. He’s always there to help me; I am blessed.

Two Who Make Intercession

I am blessed to know that Jesus is at the right hand of the Father making intercession for me, and I know the devil is not able to block those prayers for any length of time. The Bible tells us we have two to make intercession for us, the Holy Spirit and Jesus—it’s definitely stated in the Word of God, in fact, in the same chapter. Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered (Romans 8:26). It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us (Romans 8:34).

The Holy Spirit and Jesus are the ones who make intercession to the Father for us; many people don’t realize this, don’t realize that the Holy Ghost is a must. After I received salvation, I wanted the Holy Ghost above everything else. It was so wonderful to be new! Now the new creation was crying out for the baptism of power. I am blessed because quickly I rushed to the Upper Room, determined to get up those steep steps to receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. And I did receive Him, just as those waiting in the Upper Room did on the Day of Pentecost; I am blessed. And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance (Acts 2:4).

A Bone Disease Healed

As a child I had a bone disease that possibly could have caused me to lose a leg. I had suffered and suffered, but I am blessed because of a mother who never gave up hope or courage, who had deep-rooted faith in miracles and healings and trusted God. She trusted Him to heal me, and she never let go of that trust, never let the enemy cause her to doubt that I would get my miracle. It’s hard to tell how many sleepless hours she spent, but she gained much through holding onto God. She was praying, looking to God, crying out to Him and telling me, “Honey, God is going to heal you.” She would pray till a morning hour, until the pain would ease. She wouldn’t leave me or go to sleep until I was out of pain, and the pain was terrible; it was like a wild animal gnawing on the bone in my leg, and I couldn’t get away from it. But Mama kept telling me the miracle would come. Then one day Jesus healed me and it was all over just like Mama had said. Had I not been blessed with a mother who would stay with me and encourage me, I might never have gotten my miracle. I am blessed.

Blessed to Be Taught the Truth

I am blessed because I had a mother who never told me one lie all the days of my life. When Mama spoke, it was like the Lord speaking; it was Jesus talk, the truth. I am blessed because I lived in truth; it was all around me. Even before I took truth on the inside of me, I learned what it could do; I am blessed. I learned about the truth of His miracles. I wasn’t the only one who got a miracle in the family; we had some fantastic miracles in our home. We not only believed in miracles, we depended on them.

I am blessed to have been reared in a home with so much faith, good spiritual soil and truth. I was taught the pure truth of the Gospel, given a wonderful foundation of Jesus Christ and the Bible in reality. The sacred Christ cared. The Redeemer, the One who died for all of us and listened to all our prayers, loved every one of us. He looked out for us, protected us.

I am blessed to know this way of peace, blessed to be led by Him beside the still waters and green pastures. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters (Psalm 23:2).

It isn’t hard for me to accept that I am blessed because as a child I had a drawing to the Holy Scriptures; I loved them. In those days in public school, Bible was graded on the report card just like the grade for other subjects; the schools started us off like that. I never remember making anything less than an A for Bible. Bible was easy for me, simple. I loved to memorize verses and chapters. If we were supposed to memorize a chapter, I’d go home and memorize it in one afternoon or evening. I’d tell Mom to wake me up the next morning early so I could review it, and then I’d stand before the class and recite. Some of those children would never learn a chapter in a year or even a month, much less overnight, and they got poor grades; but I was blessed.

Mama Was My Help

The Lord was ever drawing me. I learned later that the angel of the Lord was in the room when I was born; I am blessed. The death angel was in that room, too; my mother almost lost her life. She would tell me, “Honey, I almost gave my life for you; I almost died for you.” Her life had been on the line for sure. Out of the seven children, I was the only one she almost lost her life giving birth to, but I was blessed; the Lord knew that I would need her. He kept Mama alive if for no one else but me.

I am blessed. I never had to go to a psychologist, psychiatrist or even a minister for help when I was growing up. I had all the help I needed right in my home. If I had a problem, I didn’t have to take it to a teacher unless it concerned something that pertained to my school lessons. I had my source of supply: Mama. I handed all my problems to her, and she never refused one of them, never acted as though my problem was insignificant no matter how busy she was—and when you have seven children, you can be very busy.

I am blessed; my mom never told me she didn’t have time for me. She may have been getting supper ready or making up the bread in the dough pan—and there was a lot of bread to make for a family of nine—but she never missed a thing I was telling her. If she didn’t have the answer, she would say, “Honey, we’ll pray about it,” and she would get an answer from God.

God Hears Every Word

I am blessed because I was taught that the Lord hears every word I speak and if I turned something over to Him and lived for Him, He would work it all out. I am blessed to have had that foundation, but you are blessed to have that foundation today even if you didn’t have it in your youth. Don’t look back; don’t think you’re left out. Instead think, I’m blessed! Jesus loved me so much that it didn’t matter about Mother, Daddy, sister, brother, whether they believed or not; the Lord reached out and chose me. He reached out for me and brought me into the true foundation, into the power of the Gospel, into the light. While other members of my family walked in the night, the Lord shined light upon my path, moved on me with His great love, and was able to love me into coming into His wonderful light and the knowledge of the Scriptures.

Look to the Light

Don’t look back at anything other than your blessings. You went through enough darkness with the curses of the devil, with what he caused you to do. Why look back to the dark? Too much light shines around you, too much light is ahead of you to look back. The Lord leadeth you by His mighty grace and eternal light, the Gospel light.

I am blessed, and I hope you’re saying that you are blessed, also. You are blessed to have this wonderful Gospel light that penetrates all the night, all the shadows, all the darkness in you. You are blessed because all the shadows are gone, even the shadow of death; Jesus took care of that, and He’ll be there to help you across Jordan. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me (Psalm 23:4). There are no shadows in Jesus Christ; He’s all life. He’s the light of the whole world, and you are blessed.

With eternal life, Jesus took the sting out of death. When this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory. O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory (I Corinthians 15:54,55)? A person is stung by death, but there’s a cure for death through Jesus Christ, life which would not have been had Jesus not brought it; He brought eternal life and we are blessed.

Come Boldly to the Throne

We’re blessed to have someone to tell our troubles to. I used to tell Mama my main troubles, but then I found that I could tell Jesus my troubles any time twenty-four hours around the clock. It’s wonderful to know that He wants us to come to Him; He wants to talk with us.

I am blessed: The Lord wants to talk to me. Does He want to talk to you? Of course He does. He said, Come now, and let us reason together (Isaiah 1:18).

You are blessed to be able to go boldly in before the throne of grace. Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need (Hebrews 4:16). Under the Law people couldn’t go in before the throne of grace; it meant death. Jesus met death for you and me so we could go in to the throne of God right here on Earth. We go in through the veil of blood, for we have been made nigh through the blood of Jesus. In Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ. For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us (Ephesians 2:13,14).

I am blessed. Are you blessed? You are blessed that you can call Jesus any time. You can speak the name Jesus in the humility, faith and love that the Lord has placed in your heart, and you have Heaven on the line; it’s just that quick and it’s wonderful.

You are blessed because the Lord hears every word you speak. Jesus said His Father always heard Him. Jesus lifted up his eyes, and said, Father, I thank thee that thou hast heard me. And I knew that thou hearest me always (John 11:41,42). You are blessed to say, “Father, you always hear me! Your Only Begotten and your Holy Spirit make intercession for me. I am blessed because I don’t have to struggle in doubt, fear, frustration and despair.”

God Is Full of Answers

My burdens get heavy because I carry the burden of a lost world, and I carry the burdens of others, the outreach partners and so forth. Also, I carry a burden for those who have no one to pray for them; that lack in their lives is tragic, pitiful. Then fresh burdens will come; sometimes a situation is so desperate that I say, “God, I’ve got to talk to you,” or maybe it’s, “Lord, you’ve got to talk to me!” Either way I say it, it works, and I fall into the Lord’s arms. I am blessed because He does talk to me and give me solutions. I am blessed because He gives me answers for people, as well as for myself.

The Lord is not full of questions when we go to Him; He’s full of answers. We’re blessed to have someone full of answers in a world that is in almost total chaos. People don’t know their way, don’t really know where they’re going; they have no sense of direction. It’s pathetic to be going around in circles. We look at the Israelites and pity them, but we need to pity civilization today; they’re lost in the wilderness of sin, going around in death circles.

Though a Man Be Dead…

Though a man be dead, yet shall he live. Because I live, Jesus said, you live also. Jesus said…I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die (John 11:25,26). The body will go back to the dust of the earth, but the soul, the real you with the salvation and the personality that the Lord has given, is eternal. You are blessed.

I am blessed to live in this endtime hour when the Lord needs soldiers so much. I am blessed that He wants to use my hands to bring in the harvest and use my mind to reveal the harvest to be brought in. I am blessed to have unending love, eternal love for all peoples throughout the whole Earth. I am blessed to be able to have the spiritual sense of hearing; I can hear what the Spirit is saying. I am blessed to have spiritual eyesight so that I can see the things of God.

Are you saying, “I am blessed?”

I have that spiritual taste; it’s like honey from the rock. O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him (Psalm 34:8). I am blessed; I’m eating the Word. Jesus said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God (Matthew 4:4). I dine on His Word, live through the Word of God. I have the fragrance of Him, that divine sense of smell. And then there’s the sixth sense, divine faith, the faith of God that moves mountains, faith that the devil cannot destroy. It’s not human faith; it’s divine faith, the very faith of God from Heaven. Faith is a gift from God.

I am blessed.

For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast (Ephesians 2:8,9).

Visions and Revelation

I’m blessed to have the many, many revelations of Jesus Christ. I am blessed with the visions that He gives to me so I can make Him a greater reality for others in this final hour, to ever guide you and make it all so real to you. The visions are real, in living color; they’re wonderful to behold. It’s fantastic for God to let His servant see the cloud of His presence. Elisha had vision; he could see what the servant couldn’t see and he prayed for God to open his servant’s eyes. It’s all in the Bible. And Elisha prayed, and said, LORD, I pray thee, open his eyes, that he may see. And the LORD opened the eyes of the young man; and he saw: and, behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire round about Elisha (II Kings 6:17).

The Lord is seeking to open your eyes, children of God. Oh Bride of Christ, He’s seeking to open your eyes so you don’t doubt the Lord, don’t blame Him for anything.

Never Blame God

I am blessed that I’ve never blamed God from the time He saved me for any misfortune that happened. When the Lord took my precious wife, Angel, I didn’t blame God for one moment. It took about all of my heart completely; it almost took my life; but I didn’t blame God. God had a right to take what belonged to Him, and she belonged one hundred percent to Him. I was blessed that He had given her to me for twenty-seven years. I am blessed to have such wonderful memories, and to know that never has a minister had a greater helpmate than I had. She was right there to stand by me, to work alongside of me, always helping to carry the burden of lost souls. A great prayer warrior, Angel spent much time in fastings, prayers, living in the divine presence and divine will of the Lord. No, I couldn’t blame God. God is perfect in all His ways, and I am blessed to recognize that, blessed to accept that.

Humility Does Not Carry Grudges

I am blessed to know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose (Romans 8:28). When things are going wrong, I am blessed that I don’t let them discourage me; I know I am in the divine will of God and all things work together for my good. It can’t come out any other way; God said so. Isn’t that wonderful! I am blessed, I am blessed, I am blessed!

I am blessed that I never carry a grudge. I have no trouble forgiving people because I forgive them through the spirit of His forgiveness; He gives it to me.

Do you have the Lord’s spirit of forgiveness? You should have it. It’s simple to forgive when you have the Jesus forgiving spirit, and He brought it for you.

Jesus brought humility for us, and all nine fruits of the Spirit. The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law (Galatians 5:22,23). I’m blessed that I have been able to gather these fruits in my life to bless others. The Holy Spirit produces them so that I can feed others and be a witness for Him.

Are you saying, “I am blessed?”

Take On the Armor of God

I am blessed to have the whole armor of God that Paul tells about in Ephesians, and he explains exactly what it is. Take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God (Ephesians 6:13-17). In this armor, there’s no back shield, so never turn your back on the Lord, never run away. Don’t let the enemy get behind you to fight; with the armor of God, meet him head-on.

Yes, you are blessed to have this armor, blessed to have this shield of faith. It will stop every fiery dart that the enemy shoots at you so why should you worry about his fiery darts? It’s exciting to find those darts falling at your feet. They hit the shield of faith and down they go; let that make music in your ears instead of darkness, terror and fright. The devil would like for you to be afraid, but no, you have the shield; you have all you need so what are you worried about? You have nothing to fear, nothing to worry about.

You are blessed.

Honor God and Trample Devils

I am blessed to know that I can trample the devil underfoot. Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you (Luke 10:19). I have a weapon that defeats the devil; it’s greater than magic. I don’t have to be afraid of the devil, all I have to fear is the Lord God Almighty, and to fear Him is to respect and love Him, not to be afraid of Him.

Fearing God is honoring Him with all your heart; the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding (Proverbs 9:10).

The Strength of a Miracle

The Lord forgave me of all my iniquities and sins, and healed all of my diseases. Many of you have heard my story again and again. I was in death’s grip at age twenty-three. I knew I was going to die, had no doubt because I was so close to death. But the Lord came one night and made me whole all over. Yes, I am blessed. I still travel in the strength of the miracle that happened so many years ago. I still have the strength and power of that miracle in my body.

Miracles are lasting. Like God, miracle power is eternal power and it lives in you just like the blood lives in your soul. Accepting that miracle power is the reason I have more strength now than I had in my youth. Age doesn’t really count, years don’t count; it’s the strength of God flowing to us, the promises of God that count, and we are blessed.

Don’t look at the condition the world is in; no, we are blessed. People in the world are trying to live on luck, and luck is no good to live on. Luck is as weak as the devil himself when it comes to blessings. There are no lasting blessings in luck. People say they are lucky, but I’m not lucky; I’ve never been lucky since God saved me; I am blessed.

What about you? Are you blessed? Can you say, “I am blessed?”

I am looking for Jesus to come in my day; I am blessed. I’m expecting to make the Rapture; I am blessed. I plan to help take the Gospel to the whole world; I am blessed. I am blessed, and I expect to meet the Lord with armfuls of sheaves, to help Him bring in untold millions, millions and more millions; I am blessed. I am blessed to be a Jesus witness in this final hour, and I am blessed because I am full of the Holy Ghost, full of love and power.

Let that be your song day and night: “I am blessed; I am blessed; I am blessed!” Don’t let the devil cheat you anymore; know you are blessed; know the Lord’s going to bless you more and more because you’re going to bless others in His name.

I love Jesus, and Jesus loves me; I am blessed.

Do You Really Have Jesus?

Do you have Jesus? Do you feel left out, lonely without Him? If so, you aren’t really blessed the way He wants to bless you. Some of you need to find Jesus so you can have real life, so that you can know what it is to be blessed. If you need Jesus, why not pray this prayer with me now?

Oh, God, I’m lost! I have sinned against you. I have trampled your precious blood underfoot, and I’m so sorry! I have come to ask your forgiveness. I know you are merciful, and I know you died for me. I believe the blood of Jesus washes my sins away, all of my sins. Come into my heart, Jesus! Come on in and bless me with your blood-bought salvation!

If you meant that prayer, now you can say, Hallelujah, He has come! Hallelujah, I am blessed!

Let God Bless You with Healing

You who are sick and afflicted: Jesus is the healer of all your diseases. Bless the Lord, oh, my soul; and forget not His benefits. He forgiveth all our sins and healeth all our diseases. I’m not a healer; I believe in the power of prayer and Jesus is the healer. You may have cancer, heart trouble, AIDS, HIV, diabetes. You may have a deaf child who can be healed right now. Many have been healed because God has blessed this Jesus ministry. It’s His name I use, not mine, to do His wonderful works. Let me pray with you now: Lord, I bring the sick and afflicted to you. Jesus said, And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive (Matthew 21:22). In obedience to the Word of God, I pray for all who need healing right now. In the name of Jesus, from your supernatural gifts of healing and your supernatural gift of miracles, I inject the miracle power from On High into their bodies through the power of the Holy Ghost. Heal! Heal! in the holy name of Jesus, in the mighty name of the Lord!

The healing power is flowing. Don’t you feel the Jesus power flowing into your body or into the body of that baby? Watch all improvements daily as you or your child gets well. Write and tell me what happened to you today. Remember, Jesus wants to bless you in every way. The name is Jesus, and He loves you. Let Him be your everything, your joy morning, noon and night. Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits: Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases (Psalm 103:2,3). You are blessed.
