Release
September Keynote 2018 — Opening Film — Apple
The iPhone XS Max was announced by Apple at a special event on September 12, 2018 by CEO Tim Cook at the Steve Jobs Theater in Cupertino, California, alongside the iPhone XR and XS. The marketing slogan for the iPhone XS Max was: “Welcome to the big screens.”[1][3] The iPhone XS and XS Max were released on September 21, 2018.
Features
The features primarily consist of a new faster six core A12 Bionic processor, a 6.5-inch Super Retina display, updated Face ID, and an improved dual-camera system. The XS Max also adopted a 4×4 MIMO 4G antenna, doubling the maximum cellular bandwidth over that of the 2×2 antennae in the iPhone X and XR.[4]
The iPhone XS Max shipped with iOS 12 as its original operating system and is supported by iOS 16.[5]
