Meaning

Look at the picture and try to guess the meaning of the idiom ‘over the moon.’

Notes:

With the picture above it’s not difficult to remember this idiomatic expression. The young man is jumping with delight on top of (over) the moon. He’s way up in the sky and that shows the height of his happiness.  This is a very common expression in English.
