MSLGroup buys Venus Communications in Vietnam

The Publicis Groupe-owned comms network makes its latest acquisition in Asia, following Arc PR in Sri Lanka

MSLGroup today announced its acquisition of Vietnamese PR agency Venus Communications.

Founded in 1998 by Mai Huong, Venus is established in Vietnam’s communications industry, with more than 40 employees in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.

The firm counts the likes of FedEx, MasterCard, Mead Johnson, Rolls-Royce and Sanofi among its clients.

It has been an affiliate of MSLGroup for a decade and the two agencies have collaborated on  numerous international projects.

Venus will now operate under the MSLGroup brand name, and continue with Tuan Giang Quang as managing director. Huong will also continue as chair of Venus, CEO of Saatchi & Saatchi and chair of Publicis Groupe in Vietnam.

Glenn Osaki (pictured), President of Asia at MSLGroup, said the acquisition was “a natural step” given the two firms’ successful 10-year affiliation.

“Founder Mai Huong and MD Tuan Giang Quang are undisputed leaders of the communications industry in Vietnam who will add vision and experience to our network of best-in-class agencies,” he added.

Quang said: “Joining MSLGROUP will provide best-in-class global and regional resources for our clients. It will also give our employees opportunities for international careers and access to world leading talent programmes.”

The acquisition comes shortly after MSLGroup took over Arc PR in Sri Lanka in January.
