Reply all in threads now defaults to the last group of recipients at the top of the thread, regardless of which message in the thread you have selected or is active. That might be good UX in theory, but in practice it’s awful. It’s easy to break the expected behavior. For example, once you forward an email to one or more people who were left off the chain as an FYI, or have a quick side conversation with a sub group in the thread, it’s incredibly difficult to reply all to the correct complete group again. So even if you scroll or use the arrows to navigate to the correct email, the sticky button for reply all simply defaults to the top—totally useless in that context—group of response emails. The only way to get the expected behavior, replying all to the email chain the users has the current context for, is to scroll to the bottom of the often expanded email thread (super long) to tap the reply all button at the bottom. This has just broken my ability to respond properly in threads. It was so confusing to figure out what was happening. It’s very easy to send emails to the wrong group of people and confusing when you tap reply all, but get the wrong group of recipients pops up. With no detail view for individual emails in the thread in iOS, the workaround is tedious. Please consider iterating on this UX.
