Facebook Groups are commonly used for social activities, and admins require an easy way to invite all members to their Events. The feature to invite all members was removed in early April, so now admins must manually invite each one of their Friends to Group-created Events, and they cannot invite Group members they aren’t Facebook Friends with.

Inviting people manually is time-consuming, not effective for reaching non-Friends in the Group, and it takes away one of the main reasons that Groups are formed in the first place. Groups are typically formed for sports teams, hiking and running groups, movie viewing parties, potlucks and dinner parties, happy hours, and more. By disabling this feature, Facebook may begin losing user activity to websites like meetup.com.

We like that Group admins can invite all members to their Group Events even if they aren’t Facebook Friends. We understand that we can leave a Group at any time if we don’t want these invites.
