Review: Skin Aqua UV Super Moisture Gel Gold

Created by Rohto, a Japanese company that’s well known for producing high value-added OTC medicines (non-prescription drugs), beauty products and supplements. I became aware of the company because of their popular eye drops. The reason why I decided to try this is because my current sunscreen isn’t performing well when I sweat a lot. It breaks — I can see some whitish fluid mixed up with my sweat which I didn’t experience prior to writing my review on it. Not really a pleasant thing to see especially when I’m out walking with my dog.

FEATURES

1. A gel type sunscreen that contains moisturizing ingredients.
2. Rohto claims this to be the strongest sunscreen in the Skin Aqua series.
3. Blends into your skin quickly, and even if you sweat, it won’t get sticky when applied over the sweat, leaving you with a smooth, silky feel.
4. Uses a unique “block veil prescription” that spreads evenly and gives a tight fit to the skin.
5. Super waterproof that is strong against sweat and water, but you can remove it with soap.

I’ve been using this for about a week now.

PROS

1. It’s true that it blends quickly into my skin.
2. It has a thick consistency but it spreads smoothly.
3. When I sweat, I don’t see any runny white cast around my neck or arms.
4. Gives me a smooth and silky feel before and during sweating.
5. Skin feels moisturized after application.
6. Unscented, artificial color and mineral oil free
7. Doesn’t cause allergy.

CONS

1. Because of its thick consistency, it tends to settle in the bottom. I always have to give it a good jolt for the product to get to the nozzle.
2. You may not be able to use up all 110g because of how thick it is. It’s placed in a bottle which makes it a bit difficult to get all of it.

For this sunscreen, Rohto uses ultraviolet absorbers as its UV protection component. There are various types of UV absorbers, and many of them have increased safety to the skin, so it is not bad for the skin. UV absorbers absorb the energy of ultraviolet rays, convert it into other energy, and release it to protect the skin from ultraviolet rays.

So far, it’s been doing well in terms of UV protection so for that, I’d recommend this.
