Sporting Dog Breeds – Characteristics & Guides
Sporting dog breeds are pleasant, well-rounded pets because they are inherently attentive and energetic. Originally developed to closely coordinate with hunters to find and/or retrieve prey.
Sporting dogs can be classified as one of four basic breeds: spaniels, pointers, retrievers, or setters. Many of these breeds like hunting and other field sports and are known for having outstanding instincts in the woods and on the water. Many of them have well-insulated, water-repellent coats that are quite resistant to the weather, especially the water-retrieving breeds.
Sporting dog breeds are excellent companions for active families because the majority of them need frequent, energizing exercise.
