3 reasons to BUY the ASUS VivoBook S15 M533
1. Design and build quality
As with most VivoBooks, the S15 uses an aluminum chassis with a plastic bottom panel that is super sturdy and feels great to carry around. Despite being a 15.6-inch laptop, it is also quite portable, weighing only 1.80 kg and being 16.1mm tall. ASUS has been very smart with the materials choices here, making the areas that you touch most out of aluminum. The laptop comes with several color options, including black, green, red, and white. Of course, ASUS has thought of better-sounding names, as all manufacturers do.
The lid opens easily with one hand, revealing a display with thin bezels and a webcam on top.
2. Battery life
The laptop comes with a 50Wh battery which lasted for 10 hours and 50 minutes of Web browsing, and 10 hours and 44 minutes of video playback. Now, we conduct the battery tests with Windows Better performance setting turned on, screen brightness adjusted to 120 nits, and all other programs turned off except for the one we are testing the notebook with.
3. Performance
The laptop is powered by either the Ryzen 5 5500U or the Ryzen 7 5700U. They each come with their respective iGPUs, either the RX Vega 6 (15W) or the Vega 7 (15W).

2 reasons NOT to buy the ASUS VivoBook S15 M533
1. Upgradeability
The laptop comes with soldered memory, with either 8GB or 16GB of RAM. As for the storage, there are two M.2 PCIe x4 drive slots.
Here is our detailed teardown video, which shows how to access the two M.2 slots.
2. I/O
The laptop has a decent I/O selection, but still using USB 2.0 ports is inexcusable in 2021. There are two USB Type-A 2.0 ports, one USB Type-A 3.1 (Gen. 1), one USB Type-C 3.1 (Gen. 1), a 3.5 mm audio jack, one MicroSD card reader, and an HDMI connector.
