UEFI BIOS – EZ Mode
The monitor will display the ASUS UEFI BIOS screen as shown below.
There is a ton of useful information being displayed on this screen.
To make it easier to read, the screen is divided into panels.
Let’s examine them one at a time.
The header shows that you are viewing the
ASUS UEFI BIOS
Utility in EZ Mode.
The Date and Time set at the factory are displayed.
The Language is set to English
F11 opens the EZ Tuning Wizard.
The panel below the header shows the critical information:
The Motherboard model is X99-AII
The BIOS version installed is 0401
The CPU detected is an Intel Core i7-6800K processor
Clock Speed = 3400MHz
Total installed Memory = 32768 MB
The Memory Frequency of the DDR4 RAM Modules = 2133MHz.
Right next to it is a graph showing the CPU Temperature.
The CPU Temperature has stabilized at 36 degree C.
The CPU Core Voltage is 1.087V
The Motherboard Temperature is 31 degree C.
Typically, the CPU Temperature will run 5 to 10 degrees hotter than the Motherboard Temperature at idle.
What if your CPU Temperature shows a reading of 45 degree C or higher at idle?
This means there is a problem with your CPU Cooler installation. Most likely you have applied too much or too little Thermal Paste. You would need to shut down the system, remove the CPU Cooler, remove the Thermal Paste, reapply the right amount, and put the system back in place.
The upper right panel shows how the system is currently tuned.
Your system is tuned for
Normal
operation by default.
This is good.
Keep this setting.
The middle panel shows the Memory Status
The Motherboard has detected four Kingston 8GB Memory Modules in these slots:
DIMM_A1
DIMM_B1
DIMM_C1
DIMM_D1
The Memory Frequency is 2133MHz.
The Boot Priority Panel on the right shows all your boot devices.
The Motherboard has correctly detected the Samsung SSD 950 PRO 256GB device.
When you have multiple boot devices, they will appear stacked in this panel.
You can switch the boot order.
F8 opens the Boot Menu
The bottom panel displays the common shortcuts.
To Save and Exit, press F10
To go back to the Default Settings, press F5
To enter the Advanced Mode, press F7
At the moment you are in the EZ Mode.
F7 acts like a toggle switch between the Advanced Mode and EZ Mode
.
