“After the first album, it was hard for me to find ‘that place.’ In digesting the success that I never had before, it was tricky for me,” he says. “After hitting a couple of speed bumps along the way, ‘I Am’ was one of the songs I wrote that definitely helped push me to go as far as I could in making the record.”
