Alaska Reads Act

District-Wide Early Education Program Grants

The Alaska Reads Act was passed in May of 2022 and goes into effect in July of 2023.  Included in the act is a district-wide early education program grant.  DEED is currently accepting applications for this grant with 4:00pm on April 4 as the deadline.  The application may be accessed on the DEED forms page or this link.  For more information, please go www.education.alaska.gov/akreads and click on “Voluntary Pre-K and Parents As Teachers.”
