Apple EarPods Overview
The Apple EarPods with Remote and Mic are designed based on the geometry of the ear. The speakers have been engineered to minimize sound loss and maximize sound output. I use this for my devices that still use the headphone jack. When you use it with the Apple USB-C adapter, you can control the volume on non-Apple devices such as Chromebook, Windows computers, and Linux computers. The cord is somewhat fragile though, as are Apple cords in general. I’m not sure why they can’t find a more durable material for the cords. It can’t be so environmentally friendly if the cords keep breaking so you have to keep replacing them.

These will barely stay in my ears when I’m not moving, and haven’t a prayer when working out. They obviously work with many ears, but if I were to use these, I’d have to buy ear tips. Sound quality doesn’t matter if these are otherwise unusable.

These work decently, and are slightly harder to lose than wireless earbud. However, they tangle if so much as a butterfly flies within a kilometer of them. Reasonably tough and resistant to cerumen.

If you still prefer to use wired ear pods with your iPhone, these are the ones to go with. The work seamlessly with your iPhone, and you’ll never have an issue. They’re solidly built and generally last a long time. I usually lose mine before the break. They’re good for a backup pair of ear pods in case your AirPods die in the middle of a conversation or meeting. Here’s an easy hack: buy some replacement foam pads for ear buds, and put them on your EarPods. It’s tricky, but once they’re on, the ear pods will fit more snugly in your ear, and the bass response will be enhanced since there will be less leakage due to a poor fit.
