ASUS ROG Strix G: What’s in the box? – The Reimaru Files
So what makes this curious little creature tick?
The eagle has landed, and this time it’s the form of the ASUS Republic of Gamers Strix G G531, the newest offering from the established gaming brand that comes with a 120hz thin-bezel display and runs on the latest Intel Core Processor and NVIDIA GeForce GTX 16 Series GPU.
Just like its’s Ryzen powered sibling that we recently reviewed, the ASUS ROG Strix G G531 comes in a 15-inch frame with a metallic finish and thin-bezel display, although relatively thicker as it comes equipped with RGB lighting surrounding its base, with lighting that syncs with the rest of its RBG-lit parts.
The overall design might not fully appeal to many, as its monitor mounting mechanism allows for some extra protrusion on its back-end, to accommodate the Power and Network ports, and, to our theory, is also to help allow additional room for airflow vents to help maximize thermal ventilation.
As a way of still adding the number pad together with its tenkeyless keyboard design, the ROG Strix G G531 incorporates the numpad into its trackpad that comes via soft-touch functions. The left and right-click buttons are also made separate as part of the way to incorporate this design, and the overall compromise does work well based on our current usage.
In terms of ports, the ROG Strix G G351 with 3 USB A 3.1 ports, all located on its right side, with its USB 3.1 Type C port, which can also act as a DisplayPort, placed on the back-end, together with the aforementioned Power and Network ports and as well as a port for your HDMI cable. Audio jacks for both headphones or speakers and microphones are also placed on the right side.
Together with the package is the ROG Strix Impact ambidextrous gaming mouse, and as well as a free backpack to fit the notebook and its inclusions like a glove.
