HEATHER’S STORY

full.png

Heather Lawrence was an avid cyclist, and life-changing Pediatric Physiotherapist. Her life was senselessly taken on July 6, 2022 when she was cycling in the outskirts of Gasoline Alley. Heather became a Red Deer resident in 2004. She devotedly worked for 18 years as a physiotherapist for Alberta Health Services, providing care to children from newborns to late teens. When not riding her bike, she could be found rock climbing, acting, travelling, being active in her church group, participating in mission trips, and enjoying her friends and family and dog Pippin. Heather was also a long-time member of the Central Alberta Bicycle Club and was instrumental in the creation of the Red Deer Regional Health Foundation’s Cycle for Central AB.

“No words can describe the black hole of grief and loss left by her sudden departure from this world” – Marlene Lawrence

Strava is the social network for athletes. Activities recorded on GPS enabled devices go to your Strava feed, where your friends and followers can share their own activities, give kudos to great performances and leave comments on each other’s activities. We intend to stay connected via Facebook and Strava.

Zwift is a multiplayer online cycling physical training program that enables users to interact, train and compete in a virtual world. A bike trainer is directly linked to Zwift, allowing you to control your avatar. We intend to ride collectively on the Zwift program but isn’t necessary to participate.
