Here’s Who We Think Will Be at Bun B’s Southern Takeover

Bun B is returning to the rodeo for a second time, for his “southern takeover.”

Last year, Bun B’s H-Town Takeover was a monumental event that included tons of renowned Houston talent, including Slim Thug, Paul Wall, Letoya Luckett, and more. This year, Bun returns to the rodeo, and bringing some of his out-of-state friends along for the ride.

In honor of Black Heritage Day, this time the performance is dubbed “Bun B’s Southern Takeover,” and will include hip-hop acts from all over the South.

The Port Arthur native, and one half of the iconic rap group Underground Kingz, Bun has been tight-lipped about who else will perform alongside him for the one night event. However, as the concert nears, our sources are providing some more insight into who might be there.

From what we’re hearing, Bun will take fans on a journey throughout the south, tapping artists from all over the southern rap landscape, with recognizable faces from nearly each state. The Rodeo’s Instagram shared a post saying that if they received 10,000 likes, Bun B would reveal the night’s lineup, which he did. So far, he’s revealed that Louisiana rapper and producer, Mannie Fresh, and Juvenile are a part of the lineup. Just last week, he revealed that 8ball & MJG of Tennessee will also be performing.

In a statement Bun wrote, “Juvenile, Mannie Fresh and others from Louisiana will join me March 3,” but there’s still no telling exactly who the surprise guest stars will be.

We predict that it could be the self-proclaimed “best rapper alive,” Lil Wayne, who recently announced that he would be going on tour, with a stop at the House of Blues in May. Or perhaps an appearance from Trina and Trick Daddy, to show Florida some love. Check back later for updates on the full lineup.

In addition to Bun B’s performance, his pop-up eatery Trill Burgers will also set up shop at the rodeo, ahead of the soon-to-come brick and mortar restaurant opening in Montrose.

The Rodeo runs from February 28 to March 19. Bun B’s Southern Takeover is Friday, March 3. For more information and tickets, visit, https://www.rodeohouston.com.
