He was a young prodigy who graduated from the academy and even became a Chunin way before his classmates. Later as his team got disbanded due to his friends’ deaths, he was taken in by Danzo as a member of the Abby Black Ops. Thinking that it would distract him from his depression due to the loss of friends, he does join them. But nevertheless, things only got worse for him, making him much more cold-blooded. As he grew older, he became the Jonin monitoring Team 7. Slowly, he finally got back on his toes from years of despair. Now that he has even appeared in Boruto, the question is, How old is Kakashi?

How Old is Kakashi in Naruto Shippuden?
Kakashi is 33 years old at the end of Naruto Shippuden. Kakashi joined the Anbu Black Ops back when he was 13 years old. This was not surprising if you consider his previous achievements of becoming a Chunin at age 6. 3 years later, Obito became a Chunin, at which point Kakashi became a Jonin. After he started working in the Anbu Black Ops, the Leaf Village was attacked by Obito Uchiha. Obito was 13 at the time, making Kakashi, who was older than him, 14. So, considering that Naruto was born on the day of the attack would mean that Kakashi is 14 years older than Naruto. By the end of Naruto, Naruto was 12 years old, making Kakashi 26 years old.
When Naruto Shippuden began, Naruto was 15 years old, making Kakashi 29 years old. And on the day the Fourth Great Ninja War came to an end, Naruto turned 17 years old. That would make Kakashi 31 years old at the end of Naruto Shippuden manga. But this was not the case for Naruto Shippuden Anime that decide to inculcate some stories from their light novel series as well. Here we see Naruto and Hinata’s Wedding. Naruto has been said to have married Hinata at 19. This would make Kakashi 33 years old at the end of Naruto Shippuden Anime.
How Old is Kakashi in Boruto: Naruto Next Generations?
Kakashi is 48 years old in Boruto: Naruto Next Generations. Naruto fathered Boruto at the age of 20, making Kakashi 34 years old. Since Boruto joined the Ninja Academy at 10 and became a Genin at 12, Kakashi would have become 12 years older than the time Boruto was born. What is Kakashi’s New Power?
Kakashi’s new power is the Purple Lightning. In the Fourth Great Ninja War, the eye Kakashi was given by Obito is taken away by Madara Uchiha. When Kakashi was young and had just created the Chidori (Thousand Birds Chirping), he could not control it well. The lightning-based jutsu was difficult to control due to its speed and force. This speed would cause the user to go into tunnel vision, thus making them vulnerable. So, after Obito supposedly dies and gives his left Sharingan eye to Kakashi, making use of it, Kakashi is finally able to control his Chidori. But as Kakashi loses the eye during the Fourth Great Ninja War, he is no longer truly able to control his Chidori.
So, as a replacement for Chidori, Kakashi creates the Purple Lightning. The Purple Lightning is a move in which the user accumulates purple lightning in their hands. This purple lightning can be used to strike down a target using bolts of electricity. Kakashi is even known to make use of the jutsu to go to the target to strike them directly. Therefore, Purple Lightning is only a replacement for Chidori in every aspect. The only difference is that Kakashi can control its speed and power, unlike the Chidori, which required a Sharingan. His power is even known to control the environment to some point, like Sasuke’s Kirin. There was an instance where Kakashi made use of the Purple Lightning to induce rain clouds to start producing rain. Just like how Sasuke uses his lightning, Kakashi can also make use of Purple lightning to send Omni-directional attacks.

Kakashi vs. Nue
In the anime, we have some prequel to the events in the Boruto manga. Here we have the Academy arc during which Boruto and his classmates are still in the Ninja Academy. The main antagonist of this arc was Boruto’s Class Representative, Sumire’s father, Tanuki Shigaraki. He was a maniacal follower of former Anbu Black Ops Head Danzo. So to avenge the Root, he bestows the Gozu Tennō with her daughter. After which, he trains her from a young age to let Nue out to take down the Hidden Leaf Village.
Kakashi is quickly able to investigate and identify that Nue was part of a former Root Project. He reports his findings to Naruto, after which he realizes that the culprit was almost done cultivating Nue. So, knowing that Nue was about to attack the Leaf Village, he heads to Senju Park. Knowing who the culprit was, Kakashi goes in the search for the Rogue student. Here Kakashi is quick to try and sever Nue’s tail. But this doesn’t do much damage as this causes the emergence of dozens of smaller tails.
Nue makes use of his smaller tails to steal chakra from Sai’s men. So as Kakashi manages to save them, he organizes the team to hold the beast off. Naruto arrives on the scene when Kakashi explains to him the situation as to how Nue aims at gathering chakra. This chakra was gathered in order to produce a big enough explosion to destroy the entire village. Nue escapes the battlefield while the shinobi try to track him. Kakashi realizes that Nue is not a beast of the normal world. In fact, Nue was a summoning present in an alternate dimension due to which he was not traceable.

Kakashi vs. Boruto
At the end of their Academic Journey, Boruto and his classmates take part in the Graduation Exam. Here, they face their various teachers, such as Konohamaru, Anko, and Kakashi. The kids are given the objective to steal the bells from Kakashi. As Kakashi heads towards the forest, he tells the about-to-be graduates to come with the intent to kill. This was a test of their resolve, and they are not allowed to hold back. As the kids try to attack the teachers, a few of them are caught by the teachers. But instead of making a coordinated plan, Boruto heads to attack Kakashi head-on.
During this fight, Kakashi acknowledges Boruto’s skill and technique. He believes that Boruto is really a cut above the rest. Even so, he is not suited to become a ninja because he lacks resolve. Boruto uses his shadow clone jutsu to launch himself with the Boruto stream. Kakashi is surprised, but he manages to dodge it. Then the real Boruto emerges from the ground as he gets hold of the bell. Kakashi is substituted by a wooden log while the bell is subbed by a leaf.
Kakashi makes use of Genjutsu to emerge from Boruto’s back. Here he holds him down while twisting Boruto’ss hand behind him. At this point, Kakashi becomes savage as he tells Boruto that the only way he can escape the hold was to break his arm. This was a test for Boruto’s resolve in which he fails as he is saved by Mitsuki.
