Omnicom Media Group Vietnam names 4 new leaders
Omnicom Media Group (OMG) Vietnam has made four new appointments to bolster its core leadership teams. It elevated business director Trang Tran (pictured second to left) to the newly created role of head of transformation. In her new role, she will be tasked with simplifying OMG’s operational processes to meet clients’ changing needs, helping them achieve business growth, and driving their digital transformation ambitions.
During her stint as business director, Tran helped brands of different sizes create consumer-centric and insight-driven strategies by tapping on digital capabilities. The agency said that her contributions have played a pivotal role in leading the team to retain the Beiersdorf account. Prior to her career in Vietnam, Tran held various EMEA regional roles at OMD and PHD, working alongside global brands from multiple sectors such as Hewlett Packard, Bethesda, and SC Johnson. With over 14 years of experience, Tran is touted to be an industry veteran.
In addition to Tran, the agency has also appointed Hoang Nguyen (pictured second to right) as planning director. Nguyen has held media planning roles in Wavemaker, GroupM, and Saatchi & Saatchi, working with a diverse range of client brands including Masan, Nestle, Perfetti, and Samsung. Before joining OMG, he was the media planning director of Dat Viet, working with brands such as Vinasoy, Uniben, and Shopee, among others. During his time there, he led all aspects of media strategy planning and transformative growth for clients., and is known for his client-centricity. According to OMG Vietnam, Nguyen’s familiarity with the Vietnam market, on top of his knowledge and media planning capabilities, will see him lead an empowering team to serve clients more efficiently.
At the same time, the agency appointed Uyen Nguyen Diep (pictured left) as strategy director. In her new role, she is responsible for optimising planning strategy powered by the agency’s data platform, OMNI, as well as driving innovative marketing solutions for clients.
She was previously the associate director at Mindshare from February 2021 and worked alongside Unilever, overseeing the strategic planning, content, and commerce portfolio for 14 brands across fabric detergent, skin cleaning, and skincare categories, according to her LinkedIn. Additionally, she played a pivotal role in establishing the eCommerce foundation for Unilever, the agency said. From August 2017 to October 2019, she helmed the role of senior manager strategic planning at MindShare, her LinkedIn also said.
OMG Vietnam has also promoted San Nguyen (pictured right) from senior digital manager to associate planning director. According to the agency, Nguyen’s nine years of experience has seen her working with brands such as L’Oreal, Coca Cola, and Kimberly Clark, among others. In addition, claimed to be a creative industry native, her services has contributed to the Beiserdorf retention and overall client agency preference, OMG Vietnam said.
According to her LinkedIn, she was previously the senior account manager at ID Communication Group for three years, where she managed project budget and cost to ensure efficient usage of resources, working with brands such as Asus, Golden Gate, Mount Elizabeth Hospital, and Gleneagles Hospital. From September 2015 to April 2017, she assumed the role of associate digital producer at Ogilvy One Worldwide, where she coordinated with clients and in-house teams to meet the marketing objective, her LinkedIn said.
The four newly appointed members will report to Julien Courant (pictured centre), chief operating officer of OMG Vietnam, and officially assume their new roles immediately. According to the agency, the appointments are aligned with its focus on delivering strategic planning and innovation services to drive accelerated growth for clients’ businesses.

He added that with the new core leadership in place, the agency is positioned to drive new levels of business growth and help its clients’ transformative journey in the ever-changing digital landscape.

Meanwhile, OMG also made a promotion in Singapore last month, elevating Chloe Neo to the role of CEO According to OMG previously, Neo’s promotion is an acknowledgement of her stellar track record for nurturing strong client relationships, elevating the agency’s capabilities, and fostering a people-first culture within the agency network. In her new role, she oversaw all aspects of OMG Singapore’s business operations, championing the group vision, building capabilities, driving greater purpose and measurable success among its agencies in Singapore namely, OMD and PHD and the group’s data and analytics division, Annalect.
