Accommodations

Pelican is a mixture of commercial fishing industry and tourism. As such, you will not be overwhelmed by a large number of high capacity lodges. Pelican’s lodges are family owned establishments, some of which are remodels of buildings that were here in the very early days of the town. You will find bed & breakfasts, inns, cabins, and rooms for rent here. Most all of the businesses are located along the boardwalk or on the beach with a view of the mountains and/or Lisianski Inlet. Each of the listed entrepreneurs offers their own unique service in the friendly style of a remote Alaskan fishing community.

Because Pelican, Alaska is such a small community there is not the flavor of industrialized tourism evident in neighboring communities. Pelican still has the atmosphere of a rustic commercial fishing village. While other towns have transitioned into industrialized tourism Pelican has maintained a delicate balance of commercial fishing and responsible tourism that respects the town’s blue collar heritage.
