Meet the Cast of “Looking for Alaska” and the Characters They Play

You’ll want to binge your way through the whole show after watching just one episode of Looking for Alaska. The show is based on a novel of the same name by John Green and was turned into a miniseries for Hulu. Though the plot can get pretty heavy, Looking for Alaska is completely relatable. Simply put, the show is about a group of teens who must confront their realities as they search for “meaning” in their lives. It’s a feeling everyone has felt or will feel at some point. You might recognize some of the actors who bring these teens to life from some of your other favorite shows. So get to know the Looking for Alaska cast before you dive into your next binge-watching session.

Kristine Froseth as Alaska Young

Kristine plays Alaska, the character who serves as inspiration for the book’s/series’ title. Alaska is a girl who looks like she has it altogether, but who secretly lives with a guilt that’s been eating her up her whole life. Pudge ends up having a crush on her.

You might recognize Kristine from her role as Veronica in Sierra Burgess is a Loser or her part as Kelly in Netflix’s The Society.

Charlie Plummer as Miles “Pudge” Halter

Charlie plays, Miles aka Pudge, the character through which Looking for Alaska is told. Miles is a new student at Culver Creek Academy and his mission is to find the deeper meaning to life. But on his quest, he falls in love with Alaska.

Charlies been acting since he was a young child, but he’s most known for his role as Ridley Scott in the 2017 movie All the Money in the World. He was also critically appraised for his role as Andrew Haigh in the 2017 film Lean on Pete.

Denny Love as Chip “The Colonel” Martin

Denny plays the role of loyal friend, Chip aka The Colonel. Chip is also Pudge’s roommate and enemy of the “Weekday Warriors,” a group of rich kids. Chip is also a scholarship student, whose mom wants him to do well in school.

If Denny looks familiar, it’s because he’s made appearances on shows like Lucifer, Empire and L.A.’s Finest.

Jay Lee as Takumi Hikohito

As Takumi, Jay plays best friend to Alaska and The Colonel. Takumi’s a student who always knows all the gossip. He’s loyal to The Colonel and Alaska and is there when they need him.

Jay is best-known for his role as Tanner Bassett in the true-crime satire, American Vandal.

Sofia Vassilieva as Lara Buterskaya

Sofia plays Lara, a shy girl from Romania who ends up having a crush on Pudge. After a series of events, Alaska gets her a date with him.

You may recognize Sofia from her role as Eloise in the movies Eloise at the Plaza and Eloise at Christmastime, based on the children’s book series, and as a teen cancer patient named Kate Fitzgerald in the film adaptation of My Sister’s Keeper.

Landry Bender as Sara

Landry plays Sara, The Colonel’s girlfriend. The two are always arguing probably over something The Colonel did to upset Sara.

If Landry looks familiar, it’s because you might have seen her on the Disney channel. She played the role of Cleo Bernstein in the series Crash and Bernstein and Cyd in the Disney sitcom Best Friends Whenever. She also plays Rocki in the Netflix series/reboot of Full House, Fuller House.

Uriah Shelton as Longwell Chase

Uriah plays Longwell, one of the Weekday Warriors, meaning he’s a rich and entitled school jock. He also hates The Colonel and his friends and gives them trouble.

Uriah’s both an actor and a singer, but if he looks familiar it’s because he played Joshua Matthews on the Disney series, Girl Meets World.

Jordan Connor as Kevin

Jordan plays Longwell’s right hand-man, Kevin, who’s a Weekday Warrior, too. Kevin’s not that bright and a follower and blames The Colonel for one of his friends getting expelled.

You probably know Jordan from his role as Sweet Pea on Riverdale, but he’s also made appearances in shows like The Magicians and Lucifer.
