Science Standards for Alaska – Public Comment

The Alaska Department of Education and Early Development (DEED) invites public comment on the proposed draft Science Standards for Alaska.  The proposed standards were developed in collaboration with Alaska educators.  The standards are intended to provide the foundation for defining what students should know and be able to do in terms of scientific knowledge and skills.

Following, each Performance Expectation (PE) is presented, along with any applicable clarification statements and assessment boundaries.  The performance expectations represent the assessable statements of what students should know and be able to do.

In this survey, respondents may comment on the standards overall or on specific PEs.  An open response comment field is provided for each PE to allow respondents to provide feedback on the areas of interest.
